Message from the President

Hello All! On behalf of the North Texas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute I want to welcome all members and potential members to our website. I also want to invite you to attend our general meetings and educational offerings for 2008. Our leadership has planned a really great 2008!

Our chapter is very fortunate to have dedicated and dependable leadership. We are all proud to be led not by me, but by the greatest Executive Director in the world, Ruth Kelton. I assure you without Ruth this chapter would not have achieved and would not continue to achieve its high level of success. Thank you Ruth!

As the incoming 2008 Chapter President I want to take this opportunity to commend and thank our 2007 Chapter President, Mark O'Briant for a job well done. We had a fantastic year in 2007 thanks to your leadership! The 2008 Board, Committee Chairs, and I will do our best to continue the successes the 2007 Board, Committee Chairs and you achieved.

My goals for the Chapter this year are very simple. I hope to help streamline our efforts so that we will not only have a successful year, but one that doesn't put too much stress on those who volunteer to help. We want you to come back next year!

The numbers of committees have been reduced to eight with many of them having co-chairs so that one person doesn't get stuck with all of the work. I hope we all have a good time getting together whether it's for a general meeting or an educational offering. "Less Stress" on everybody will make life more fun!

In closing this message I want to list our Committee Chairs and extend to you the invitation to join in "the fun." If you would like to participate in any of the following committees please do not hesitate to contact the committee chairs or me. Our 2008 Committee Chairs are: Education - Ann Kostishak, MAI; Finance - Jim Justice, MAI; Government Relations - Greg Stephens, SRA and Bruce Minchey; Newsletter - John Scarborough, SRA; Nominating - Mark O'Briant, MAI; Programs - Jim Jacobs, SRA, and Jim Underhill, MAI; Public Relations - Peter Malin, MAI, and Mark O'Briant, MAI; and Web-site - Richard Baker, MAI, and Gary Ray, MAI.
